Custom domains

Use your own domain for the customer portal and Composer registry.

Overview

Custom domains let you serve your customer portal and Composer registry from your own domain, providing a seamless branded experience.

Domain Types

Your Composer registry / repository and customer-facing pages are served from the same domain.

Setting up a custom domain

  1. Go to SettingsDomains.
  2. Enter your custom domain.
  3. Click "Connect".
  4. Configure the given DNS records for your domain.
  5. Wait for DNS propagation and verification.

You will receive an email when your domain is ready to use.

Hosted domains

Privato also offers a free subdomain (e.g. acme.privato.pub) to all users. This domain will remain active alongside your custom domain so customers who have used it do not need to update their Composer configuration.
